General Purpose

The Retail Associate ensures our Customers have a positive shopping experience. Responsibilities include greeting customers, maintaining a clean work area, proper merchandise presentation, and performing various store functions as needed. You may be asked to perform additional tasks to help achieve customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

• Prioritize safety and practice safe behaviors at all times.
• Create a safe shopping environment by maintaining awareness, clearing emergency exits, and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Treat all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; recognize fellow Associates.
• Assist Customers with merchandise, answer questions, and process transactions politely and efficiently.
• Respond promptly to Customer Service calls and resolve issues courteously, involving leadership when necessary.
• Support the Company brand at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks to maintain cleanliness and sanitation.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
• Ensure store is organized and merchandise is replenished according to standards.
• Expedite receipt of new merchandise and ensure proper merchandising.
• Understand loss prevention policies and merchandise protection standards.
• Demonstrate integrity, safeguard confidential information, and handle cash accurately.
• Follow all policies related to stock management, cash handling, and transactions.
• Perform tasks with a sense of urgency to maximize productivity.

Qualifications and Skills

Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner. Basic mathematical skills used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements/ADA

• Operate store equipment including registers and PCs.
• Stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of the time.
• Bend, squat, kneel, reach, and lift objects up to 25 pounds regularly.
• Use janitorial and store equipment as needed.
• Stockroom shifts require lifting more than 20 pounds regularly.
