Job summary

Labcorp in Tampa, FL is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team. The role runs Sunday through Thursday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, performing specimen receipt, preparation, data entry and routine maintenance. You will work in a fast paced clinical laboratory, following SOPs for safety and quality. HS diploma required with 3 months of specimen processing or lab experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 months+ specimen processing experience preferred.
• 3 months+ medical or laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure lab equipment is working and perform minor maintenance.
• Troubleshoot specimen related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
• Follow SOPs to ensure safety and quality standards.
