Job summary

Saltbox is seeking a Dock Sortation Lead in Alexandria, VA, to run the end-to-end sortation, manage a small on-floor team, and keep SLA targets on track.

You will be on the floor from around 5:00am, coaching throughput, ensuring accurate scans, and coordinating driver handoffs. This role demands early mornings, hands-on leadership, and precise daily reporting to maintain operations excellence.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3+ years leading a team in warehouse, logistics, or fulfillment.
• Experience with scanning, sortation, or distribution workflows.
• Comfortable using AI tools.
• Available for early-morning shifts, 7-day rotation.
• Familiar with SLA-driven operations where accuracy and speed both matter.

Responsibilities

• Run end-to-end sortation process: pallets in, packages scanned and sorted, batches staged, drivers dispatched.
• Stay on the floor and hands-on when volume or staffing needs it.
• Coach throughput (225 scans/person/hour) and Sort App usage in real time.
• Get every team member trained and Sort App certified before they touch a package.
• Own site performance against all SLAs: delivery, loss rate, sort completion, and dispatch targets.
• Flag risks early enough to fix them, not after they become misses.
• Verify Runner identity, match to batches, confirm in Sort App.
• Handle damaged packages and elevate missing ones immediately.
• Respond to partner communications within 30 minutes during operational hours.
• Submit a complete daily ops report every shift: volume, device count, truck times, inventory, escalations.
• Maintain camera coverage and corporate device discipline at all times — zero unauthorized usage.
