Job summary

Cal Poly Pomona is seeking a Custodian to perform routine cleaning and maintenance at the Pomona campus. The role requires safety adherence, ability to read work orders, and efficient housekeeping to keep classrooms, restrooms, and common areas clean.

Typical duties include dusting, mopping, trash removal, restroom sanitation, and operating custodial equipment with a Monday–Friday schedule. This full-time position is probationary with a monthly pay range consistent with CSU standards.

Qualifications

• Two years of custodial experience preferred (from the Qualifications)
• Driver License valid and in-state
• Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to duties
• Follow verbal and written safety instructions
• Ability to move up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Dust and clean building fixtures and surfaces such as walls, ledges, window sills, doors and frames.
• Remove gum, tape, streaks, smudges, spills, fingerprints and graffiti.
• Dust mop, vacuum, sweep and mop floors; clean carpets and rugs.
• Disinfect restrooms, locker rooms, sinks, toilets and urinals.
• Report maintenance needs and follow safety procedures while using custodial equipment.
