Job summary

The University of Notre Dame is seeking a Custodian for the 4 a.m. shift (Monday – Friday) to support academic, residential, athletic, and administrative facilities. This full-time role helps ensure spaces are clean, safe, and ready for daily operations, contributing to the campus experience.

Responsibilities include restroom care, general cleaning, floor maintenance, trash disposal, and event support. Prior custodial experience is preferred; starting pay is $18.25 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
• Must be able to work effectively with infrequent direct supervision.
• Must be able to follow instructions and procedures.
• Basic computer skills are preferred.
• Experience: Previous custodial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Restroom & Shower Care: Clean and sanitize restrooms and shower areas, refilling dispensers and maintaining hygiene.
• General Cleaning: Vacuum, dust, mop floors, clean fixtures, perform seasonal tasks, and remove stains.
• Additional Responsibilities: Lock/unlock doors, assist with event set-ups, respond to emergency cleaning requests, move furniture, stock supplies, and operate cleaning equipment.
