Job summary

Immediate start for a dedicated paraprofessional aiding literacy initiatives. Responsibilities include supervising students, delivering varied instructional methods, and communicating progress to parents.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with teachers, support staff, and school administrators.
• CPI/restraint certification, First aid and CPR training completed at first available offering by District.
• High school diploma preferred or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with planned activities and instructional programs.
• Record and file statistical data, grades, and reports.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials for daily instruction as planned by the teacher; set up and operates audiovisual equipment; type educational materials; ability to use and operate copy machines, and computers.
• Assist the teacher in maintaining individual student records.
• Assist in supervising students in the classroom, lunchroom, and on the playground under the supervision of a district certified staff member.
• Presents subject matter to students, utilizing variety of methods and techniques such as lecture, discussion, and supervised role‑playing, under the supervision of the teacher.
• Prepares, administers, and grades examinations.
• Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
• Confers with parents on progress of students.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.
