Job summary

The Butler County Family Young Mens Christian Association is hiring an Assistant Teacher in Butler, PA. The role supports education, supervision and care in the YMCA Early Learning Center, assisting curriculum planning and family engagement within a leading nonprofit focused on youth development and healthy living.

Required clearances include FBI, PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, NSOR and health assessments; CPR/First Aid/AED within 60 days.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with relevant child-care experience or 15 college credits and 1 year experience with children.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification required within 60 days by PQAS trainer; preferred.
• FBI clearance, PA clearances, NSOR, health assessment and 2,500 hours with children required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing the curriculum within the established guidelines.
• Assist with daily lesson and activity plans.
• Maintain communication with parents throughout the year.
• Supervise children, classroom and activities.
• Conduct ongoing child observations and evaluations.
• Maintain program records and safety standards.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
