Qualifications

• Education: 48 semester hours or 60 quarter hours from an accredited college or university, desirably in child development, education, special education, or related field.
• Experience: One year of experience demonstrating ability to perform the duties of the class, such as student instructional activities or personal guidance of students within an organized program.
• High school diploma is acceptable.
• Two years of experience as a Paraeducator aide or experience demonstrating ability to perform the duties of the class.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff in pre-k and kindergarten classrooms.
• Prepare lesson outlines and plans in assigned areas.
• Develop and prepare teaching aids and materials.
• Present subject matter using varied teaching methods.
• Assist students individually or in groups with assignments.
• Prepare and grade assessments.
• Communicate progress with classroom teacher.
• Maintain classroom and bulletin boards.
