Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Paraeducator Assistant I for the Lemelson STEM Academy, to support pre-k and kindergarten learners in an early learning program. The role emphasizes instructional assistance, progress tracking, and collaboration with licensed staff to foster foundational literacy and classroom routines.

The position requires relevant education/experience, including at least 48 semester hours or a high school diploma with two years of paraeducator experience; LETRS

Qualifications

• Education: 48 semester hours or 60 quarters from an accredited college/university (desirable in child development, education, special education).
• Experience: 1 year in student instructional activities or guiding students within an organized program.
• Or a high school diploma with 2 years of paraeducator experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff in multiple pre-k and kindergarten classrooms.
• Prepare lesson outlines, plans, and teaching aids.
• Present material using various methods in traditional/non-traditional settings.
• Assist students individually or in groups with assignments and concepts.
• Prepare, administer, and grade assessments.
• Maintain classroom materials and communication with families.
• Operate standard office and AV equipment.
• Support new early learning opportunities within WCSD.
