Job summary

Dassel-Cokato Public Schools is seeking an Early Childhood Paraprofessional for the Fall of 2026 to support early learners (ages 3–5) in our Early Childhood Center, including Preschool, ECFE, and ECSE classrooms.

Under the supervision of the Early Childhood Coordinator and licensed staff, you will assist with daily routines, provide instructional and social-emotional support, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AA Degree or 60 semester credits or passing paraprofessional assessment test (district will assist).
• Experience working with young children (ages 3–5) or special needs preferred.
• Ability to pass state and federal background checks.
• Strong communication, patience, flexibility, and passion for supporting early learners.

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually or in small groups with learning tasks and activities.
• Guide positive behavior and help with self-regulation and transitions.
• Actively supervise students in classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, and during arrival/dismissal (bus duty).
• Prepare visual aids, crafts, adapted learning tools, and centers as directed by the teacher.
• Observe children during activities and note progress for planning.
• Support families during parent-child activities and events.
• Perform daily tasks like organizing supplies, filing, copying, and maintaining clean areas.
