Job summary

The Cedar Rapids Community School District is seeking an Early Learning Paraeducator for Truman Early Learning Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This 3 hours/day position runs four days per week (Monday–Thursday) at $16.25 per hour, with an ASAP employment date.

Responsibilities include supervising preschool students, assisting teachers, and monitoring student progress. Candidates should have 12+ ECE credit hours or a CDA credential, plus CPR/first aid certification and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Supervise students.
• Under the direction of professional staff work with students individually or in group settings.
• Consistently monitor student's learning and behaviors.
• Be available for any student need including health, toileting, behavior, and self help skills.
• To attend district workshops and trainings in order to continue learning about Early Childhood Education.
• Other duties as assigned.

CLASSIFICATION:

• Teacher Associates
• Three hours (3) per day
• 4 days per week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
• $16.25/hr

PREPARATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:

• Must have at least 12 credit hours in early childhood education, a current CDA credential, two years post secondary education or Paraeducator certificate.
• Required to obtain pediatric first aid and CPR.

• Ability to work well with others.
• Flexibility in working with classroom teachers.
