Cedar Rapids Community School District Truman Early Learning Center - Cedar Rapids, Iowa is hiring an Early Learning Paraeducator (Para) for Truman Early Learning Center.

Responsibilities include supervising preschool students, assisting with individual and group activities, monitoring progress, and supporting health and behavior needs. Requires 12 credit hours in ECE, CDA or equivalent, CPR/First Aid, and strong teamwork skills. 7.5 hours/day, four days/week at $16.25/hour. ASAP start.

Qualifications

Job Description

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

• Supervise students.
• Under the direction of professional staff work with students individually or in group settings.
• Consistently monitor student's learning and behaviors.
• Be available for any student need including health, toileting, behavior, and self help skills.
• To attend district workshops and trainings in order to continue learning about Early Childhood Education.
• Other duties as assigned.

CLASSIFICATION

• Teacher Associates
• Seven hours and thirty minutes (7.5) per day
• 4 days per week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
• $16.25/hr

PREPARATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

• Must have at least 12 credit hours in early childhood education,a current CDA credential, two years post secondary education or Paraeducator certificate.
• Required to obtain pediatric first aid and CPR.

• Flexibility in working with classroom teachers.
• Ability to work independently.

The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables and carts. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus while supervising students and working with computers, written materials, reports, assessment data, etc.
