YMCA of Southwest Florida is seeking a Classroom Teacher to support young children by creating joyful, nourishing environments that promote growth during the first five years of life. The role emphasizes daily rhythms, a range of activities, and strong home/school partnerships, including meetings, conferences, and weekly parent communications.

You will document progress, plan with staff, and help maintain a safe, beautiful classroom while upholding licensing and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with at least 12 credit hours of child development or early childhood education or elementary education.
• A valid Florida Childcare Staff Credential.
• A deep love for children, respect for parents, collaboration with staff, enthusiasm for work, and a commitment to self‑development.
• Strong teaching and student management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• At least one year teaching in an early childhood education setting.
• Successfully complete required background screening and comply with policies.

Responsabilités

• Develop a healthy daily and weekly rhythm that supports growth.
• Lead daily activities: circle, imaginative play, story, crafts, cooking, nature walks, and more.
• Document student progress and maintain a safe, orderly classroom.
• Prepare and hold class meetings and parent conferences as scheduled.
• Write weekly communications to parents describing activities.
• Plan, prepare, and participate in staff meetings and collaboration with the director.
