Job summary

This position at the YMCA Early Learning Center involves meeting the developmental needs of children birth through five in a group setting. Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 and high school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months’ experience in a licensed child care facility.
• Maintain current CPR/First Aid or acquire within 30 days of hire.
• Negative TB Screen and recent physical on file.
• Meet KDHE regulations and CACFP guidelines.
• 12 hours of observations in a licensed facility with children of the enrolled age.
• Attend New Employee Orientation within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities.
• Post weekly lesson plans and supply needs to the Teacher/Director.
• Develop a daily schedule balancing active and quiet times.
• Monitor children’s development via observations and reports.
• Maintain positive relations and effective communication with families.
• Lead classroom assistants and volunteers to meet program standards.
