Job summary

YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking an Early Learning Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher at the YMCA Early Learning Center, year-round, coordinating activities to help children grow, learn, and thrive in a safe, welcoming environment.

You will assist with implementing the daily curriculum, preparing classroom materials, and tracking attendance and observations while promoting positive interactions with families and staff in alignment with YMCA values.

Qualifications

• One year or more of related experience in an Early Learning setting.
• Ability to pass Background and reference checks per WA requirements.
• Willingness to obtain CPR, First Aid, TB test, and required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Recruit for full enrollment and assist with curriculum implementation.
• Prepare classroom materials and support daily activities.
• Plan family meetings and communicate with parents about child progress.
• Ensure health, safety, and alignment with WA Administrative Code and Early Achievers.
