You will support the lead teacher, develop engaging activities for infants to preschoolers, and gain hands-on experience in lesson planning, child assessment, and program operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; at least 18 years old.
• Career Pathway Level as determined by the program’s SUTQ requirements.
• Must submit medical statement per ODJFS standards.
• Must obtain/maintain first aid, communicable diseases, child abuse recognition & prevention certifications.
• Demonstrated passion for youth development and healthy living.
• Ability to relate to diverse groups and build authentic relationships.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teacher with curriculum implementation and lesson planning.
• Lead activities and help with assessments as directed.
• Build positive relationships with families, staff, and community partners.
• Maintain classroom environment and equipment, including cleaning duties.
• Ensure program compliance with YMCA licensing and SUTQ requirements.
