Job summary

North Bay Regional Center is seeking an Early Intervention Service Coordinator to conduct intake and ongoing assessments for infants and toddlers, develop IFSPs, and coordinate services to families. The role involves collaboration with community organizations and ongoing reviews every six months, with bilingual English/Spanish required.

Hybrid work arrangements may be available after an initial in-office period.

Qualifications

• Must have a master’s degree in social work or a related field from an accredited university; be a credentialed Speech Pathologist or Nurse with a PHN or PNP certification and three years of experience in working with children in early intervention agencies and resources.
• OR
• A bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience in a professional position at NBRC or another California Regional Center with child case carrying responsibility can be substituted for the above.
• Minimum qualifications may be waived depending on the agency’s need for specialized skills (such as language abilities).
• Knowledge of early childhood development.

Responsibilities

• Provide intake and ongoing assessments of infants and toddlers (0 to 3 years) eligible for Early Intervention Services under California Early Start program mandates.
• Assist eligible children and their families with the coordination of other resources, in development of an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and participate in periodic reviews of the IFSP every six months or more frequently if conditions warrant.
• Take an active role in transition services for toddlers.
• Provide service coordination to assist families in accessing services necessary to enhance child development and family capacity.
• Participate in educational and prevention outreach activities and serve as liaison to community organizations working with populations at high risk for developmental disability.

NATURE OF WORK:

An Early Intervention Service Coordinator provides intake and ongoing assessments of infants and toddlers (0 to 3 years of age) eligible for Early Intervention Services under California Early Start program mandates. You will assist eligible children and their families with the coordination of other resources, in development of an Individualized Family Service Plan and participate in periodic reviews of the IFSP every six months or more frequently if conditions warrant and take an active role in transition services for toddlers. You will provide service coordination to assist the families in accessing services necessary to enhance the development of the child and the capacity of the family to meet the needs of the child. You may participate in educational and prevention out-reach activities and serve as liaison to other community organizations that work with populations at high risk for having a developmental disability. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to provide transportation during working hours and after-hours emergencies or access to another form of reliable transportation which meets requirements. Ability to provide minimum legal automobile liability insurance. Flexibility in work hours is required to meet the needs of the regional center constituency. This position will be primarily based in the office; however, a hybrid remote work schedule may also be available. Bilingual Spanish/English required.

All employment at NBRC requires face-to-face, in-person interactions with NBRC clients, family members, community, and co-workers. Candidates for employment must live within commute distance to their preferred NBRC office, as well as the geographical location of their assigned clients. While 100% remote work is not available to NBRC employees, a hybrid work arrangement with a blend of in-office and home-based work may be available for new employees after successfully demonstrating achievement of performance expectations following at least 3 months of in-office work.
