Job summary

Benchmark Human Services in Havre, MT is seeking a Family Support Specialist Assistant to help infants, toddlers and families access Montana Milestones services. The role supports eligibility processes, assessments and IFSP planning under supervision.

Starting pay is $18/hour, rising to $20/hour after credential is obtained. Eligible candidates reside in or near Havre or Harlem, MT, with a high school diploma and valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must reside in or near Havre, MT or Harlem, MT.
• Must complete on the job training and become certified by the State of Montana within two years of hire.
• Valid Driver's License and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Function in an ongoing coordinator role under supervision of a comprehensively certified Family Support Specialist (FSS).
• Assist with eligibility determination, including referral, intake, and eligibility determination activities.
• Conduct the family assessment, including interviewing the family.
• Collect information on the child's development, including observations of the child.
• Coordinate evaluations and assessments.
• Assure families are informed of rights, options, advocacy services, and their role in the EI process.
• Assist parents in planning, meeting, developing, implementing, and reviewing an IFSP.
• Collect the family's insurance or Medicaid information to facilitate coordination of benefits and services.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely electronic and paper file records.
• Monitor the delivery of services to ensure they are provided on time and in accordance with the IFSP.
• Coordinate and monitor the delivery of available services.
• Communicate and coordinate services with medical and health providers.
• Facilitate the transition plan into/out of EI system as appropriate.
• Meet weekly with supervisor for supervision and feedback.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
