Job summary

The University of New Mexico seeks an Education Consultant to deliver specialized education, training, and coaching for IDEA Part C services. The role supports statewide professional development for early intervention educators and interdisciplinary professionals across New Mexico.

The ideal candidate has background in early intervention, family-centered practices, and caregiver coaching, with ability to train using in-person and virtual formats. Travel statewide is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Experience in delivering in-person early intervention services and mentoring professionals.
• Knowledge of IDEA Part C, family-centered practices, and caregiver coaching.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized education, training, and technical advice on best practices for IDEA Part C services.
• Collaborate with state leaders and interagency partners to identify needs and develop professional development.
• Provide group or individual coaching, in-person or virtual, to educators and families.
• Travel statewide as needed to support early intervention programs and districts.
