Job summary

Breakthrough Central Texas seeks an Early High School Student Advising & Program Coordinator to lead advising services for 9th and 10th grade students, helping them plan postsecondary paths and college readiness. The role involves Saturday and school-based programs and teamwork with a high-performing advisory staff.

The position is temporary, hourly at $25/hour, 25–35 hours/week, from Nov 2, 2026 to Feb 12, 2027, with potential extension based on program needs and performance.

Qualifications

• Experience advising early high school students in academic or postsecondary planning contexts preferred.
• Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM tools for tracking student data.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
• Flexibility to adapt to both in-person and virtual advising formats as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, high quality academic advising to a caseload of 45-60 students.
• Help students develop study skills, time management, goal setting, and self-advocacy.
• Meet with guardians/families and maintain regular contact with high-priority students.
• Coordinate academic and non-academic interventions to meet student needs.
• Assist students in overcoming barriers to achieve their goals.
• Conduct parent/guardian outreach via email, phone, and text.
