Job summary

Western Arizona Council of Governments (WACOG) seeks an Early Head Start teacher to develop age-appropriate lesson plans and supervise children, ensuring safety and well-being. You will implement the Creative Curriculum, align with Head Start standards, and collaborate with families to support child growth.

The role requires CDA credential and knowledge of infant/toddler development, with opportunities for professional development and travel within the service area.

Qualifications

• Per Head Start standards and state regulations guidance.
• Experience with infant/toddler development knowledge is preferred.
• Ability to communicate with families professionally.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for care, safety, and welfare through active supervision.
• Plan and facilitate experiences using the Creative Curriculum and state standards.
• Apply developmentally appropriate teaching techniques for preschool children.
• Evaluate and report student progress with Family Development Team and Program Specialists.
• Build partnerships with families and communicate daily to support learning and development.
• Maintain records including observations and ensure confidentiality.
• Attend conferences, home visits, and IEP-related activities.
• Travel within WACOG service area as needed; possibly overnight.
