Job summary

You will coordinate with families, conduct assessments, and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering a comprehensive curriculum across education, health, nutrition, and related services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field with emphasis on early childhood education.
• Texas Teaching Certification (pre-K or all levels) required or preferred.
• CDA credential is acceptable for Early Head Start teachers.
• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with coursework focused on early childhood education.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities in all classroom functions.
• Maintain a safe, healthy learning environment, indoors and outdoors.
• Plan and implement a child development program for Head Start classroom that aligns with developmentally appropriate practices and Head Start Performance Standards.
• Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Coordinate and interact positively with parent/volunteer assigned to classroom.
• Encourage family involvement in classroom activities and in program operations.
• Develop lesson plans and implement learning experiences.
• Conduct assessments for children according to established guidance.
• Maintain records on enrolled children and families per Performance Standards.
• Ensure program areas are integrated in the classroom curriculum (education, nutrition, health, disabilities, transportation).
