Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking an Early Head Start Teacher to contribute to planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate educational program for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in Baltimore. You will assess child development, set individualized goals, and coordinate with leadership to ensure high-quality services.

The role requires a high school diploma, 1 year of related experience, and Maryland child care certifications (CDA preferred within 6 months).

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 1 year of progressive, related experience (required).
• Microsoft Word and Outlook software (required).
• 90-hour Child Care Certification and 4-hour Infant/Toddler Certification - Maryland State Department of Education (required, CDA within 6 months of hire).
• CPR and First Aid Certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assesses development of children and sets goals for their development, plans individualized curriculum to help children meet goals.
• Assists with coaching and guidance to ensure inclusion of children with special needs in regular classroom activities.
• Oversees health, safety, and well-being of all center-based children.
• Documents children’s growth using written observations, photography, work samples, and assessment tools.
• Reports to the Child Development Specialist, Lead Teacher and/or leadership team regarding programming.
