Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, Inc. seeks an EHS Teacher Aide to support infants, toddlers and preschoolers under Head Start standards in Baltimore, MD.

The role focuses on promoting development across cognitive, physical, social and emotional areas within a safe learning environment. Responsibilities include assisting in lesson planning, health/safety checks, documenting observations, coordinating snack/meals, and supporting family engagement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• One year of experience in child development working with children; preferably infants/toddlers required.
• Must obtain 45-hour Infant and Toddler Certificate within 6 months of hire.
• Must obtain 90-hour Child Care Certificate within 6 months of hire.
• Infant and Toddler CDA within 6 months of hire.
• Current Infant/toddler CPR and First Aid Certificate required within 90 days after hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists teachers in maintaining a classroom environment and curriculum to MSDE and Head Start standards.
• Helps develop daily/weekly classroom lesson plans.
• Performs health and safety checks and conducts fire drills.
• Assists in documenting daily anecdotes and observations.
• Maintains daily sign-in/out sheets.
• Supports hygiene routines and meal service.
• Supervises children in classroom and outdoor areas.
• Assists with recruitment and enrollment and community outreach events.
• Participates in training, supervision meetings, and home visits.
