Job summary

A community service organization in Fairmont, West Virginia is looking for a dedicated individual to implement Head Start services and engage with families. The candidate will ensure compliance with program standards and provide necessary support and referrals to families. Responsibilities include working flexible hours as per the supervision of the Children Services Supervisor and traveling to multiple sites. Applicants should have a valid driver's license and pass required background checks.

Qualifications

• Ability to travel to various sites providing own transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Must pass state and federal background checks and health assessments.
• Experience in home visiting or adult education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement service areas as outlined in the Head Start Program Performance Standards.
• Assist families with support and referrals, maintaining a respectful attitude.
• Work hours as assigned by the Children Services Supervisor.

Job description

Responsible for implementation of service areas as outlined in the Head Start Program Performance Standards; Parent, Family and Community Engagement Framework; and applicable program Policies and Procedures. Primary responsibilities include knowledge of child health requirements, implementation of individual family partnership agreements, provide support and referrals for families, and maintain a professional respectful attitude with parents, staff, and the community.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employees occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, drive an automobile, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 15 lbs.

Job Requirements/Skills/Responsibilities

Work hours as assigned by Children Services Supervisor; evening/weekend hours and overnight travel as needed; ability to travel from site to site providing own transportation; valid driver’s license; vehicle with adequate insurance coverage for on the job use; safe driving record; State and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Record Check; Sex Offender Registry Check; Protective Services Record Check; Initial Health Assessment and required updates; prior to hire TB Risk Assessment or TB screening by Mantoux method; CPR/FA card; and food handlers card. Experience in social work, case management, health, and home visiting or adult education; knowledge of geographic area, agencies, and services. General skills necessary to perform your job functions: mathematical, spelling, grammar, organizational, communication skills, record keeping, and computer skills.
