Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Teacher Assistant II for Early Head Start South LA to support 2–3 year olds in a developmentally appropriate classroom. The role focuses on implementing the program curriculum, assisting the Co-Teacher, and promoting parent involvement with daily activities.

The position emphasizes on-site work, health and safety compliance, and collaboration with the Family Advocate to integrate HS services.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred for communication with families.
• AA in ECE/CD with 24 units or AA in related field with 24 CD units required.
• Experience working with preschool children is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide a developmentally appropriate environment for children 2–3 years old.
• Plan and implement curriculum and activities for morning and afternoon sessions.
• Coordinate with Family Advocate and HS services to support learning and family involvement.
• Observe and assess children's development and maintain records as needed.
• Maintain health, safety, and licensing requirements in the classroom.
