Job summary

IncrediCare in Ashburn is seeking an evening caregiver for a 4-hour shift from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., Monday to Friday. There is potential for this role to grow to 12 hours a day with the right compassionate career-oriented professional. Experience with dementia is required; additional training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Prior caregiving experience preferred.
• Current CPR (American Heart Association) certification.
• Willingness to follow CDC health and safety guidelines (COVID-19).
• Knowledge of housekeeping and cooking with dietary constraints.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ambulation and mobility around the home and to appointments.
• Provide redirection and activity support for sundowning.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene.
• Help with prescribed physical therapy and exercises.
• Run errands or accompany clients when shopping if needed.
• Gather condition and treatment information from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family.
• Report unusual incidents to nurses, doctors and family.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Help with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor's appointments, walks etc.)
• Provide redirection and activity support for sundowning
• Assist with personal care and hygiene
• Help with completingphysical therapy and other recommended exercise
• Complete shopping or accompany clients when they shop if needed
• Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family members
• Report any unusual incidents to nurses, doctors and family members
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Requirements

• Previous caregiver experience preferred
• Current CPR (American Heart Association) Certification
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards, including those outlined by the CDC in relation to COVID-19
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Must be respectful and compassionate with a good bedside manner
• Outstanding communication, time management and interpersonal skills
• Physical endurance to complete required tasks
• Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
• High school diploma or equivalent
