Job summary

Frontier Central School District seeks a dedicated classroom assistant to support students and teachers. You will help maintain a productive learning environment, assist individuals or groups with skill drills, and help prepare instructional materials.

You will supervise independent work, assist during arrival and dismissal, manage supplies, and support students with special needs or behavioral plans. Physical stamina is required, and prior experience with young learners is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Typing ability at a reasonable speed.
• Experience working with children with handicapped conditions preferred.
• Sensitivity to personal care needs.
• Experience with children with behavioral problems.
• Knowledge of early elementary students.

Responsibilities

• Assists in maintaining a classroom environment conducive to focus and task completion.
• Assists individuals or groups needing drill in specific skills or content areas.
• Follows student behavior plans and helps maintain related records.
• Assists teacher with preparation of instructional materials.
• Supervises independent student work.
• Assists with arrival and dismissal times as needed.
• Helps keep supplies and materials organized and ready for use.
