Job summary

Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) in The Dalles, OR seeks a versatile staff member to assist center staff in daily operations, greet visitors, perform clerical tasks, and support meal service and safety procedures. The role spans Teacher Assistant, Bus Assistant, Cook Assistant, and custodial duties, with emphasis on age-appropriate activities, teamwork with families, and confidentiality.

Six months of varied experience preferred; pay range is $17.00 to $19.71 hourly.

Qualifications

• Six months experience across diverse tasks including childcare, restaurant cooking, and industrial cleaning

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors in person or on the telephone, answer inquiries, direct to staff, and issue visitor badges.
• Perform clerical duties: data entry, reports, filing, and correspondence.
• Assist teachers with activities and record-keeping; provide safe, developmentally appropriate activities.
• Assist with bus transportation duties: supervise children, ensure seat belts, and safe entry/exit.
• Assist food service in preparing meals/snacks and maintaining kitchen hygiene.
• Perform custodial duties and general center maintenance; support teamwork and safety practices.
• Communicate positively with staff, parents, and children and participate in meetings and trainings.
