Job summary

Muskingum Valley ESC School District is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to develop and implement individualized education plans for students with speech and language disorders. You will conduct evaluations, participate in parent conferences, and provide direct, indirect, and consultative services across school sites.

The role requires an Ohio license, a Master’s in speech pathology/audiology, and previous experience with children.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree with major study in speech pathology and audiology.
  • Valid Ohio pupil services speech language pathologist license.
  • Experience with early childhood and school-age children preferred.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license or transportation to off-site functions.
  • Successful completion of BCI/FBI background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision, constructs and implements individual education plans for students with speech and/or language disorders; conducts evaluations to determine eligibility for services and to document progress toward goals.
  • Participates in parent conferences to share information pertaining to student progress; provides staff support.
  • Provide direct, indirect and consultative speech services to students with documented deficits in communication areas.
  • Prepare and implement IEPs containing present levels, goals, and measurement criteria, with projected initiation and duration.
  • Write lesson plans reflecting annual goals and objectives, leading to independence as an adult.
  • Maintain documentation verifying student progress toward goals in language, articulation, fluency and/or voice.
  • Serve as a resource to staff for speech/language program development and listening activities.
  • Provide information and counseling to parents regarding speech, hearing and language development.
  • Communicate and cooperate with classroom staff on an ongoing basis.
  • Travel to program sites or homes to provide instruction or assessment activities.
  • Assist in referrals and communicate with agencies and specialists within the community.
  • Complete reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance and required licenses.
