Job summary

The Education Specialist at Brazos Valley Community Action Program leads and supports high-quality early childhood education across Head Start and Early Head Start programs in Bryan, TX. This role requires a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education, at least three years' experience, and knowledge of Head Start standards and CLASS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education required; master preferred or related degree with ECE coursework.
• Minimum of three years of experience in early childhood education.
• Experience with curriculum implementation, coaching, and classroom assessments preferred.
• Knowledge of Head Start Program Performance Standards.
• Experience with CLASS, school readiness, and child assessment systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees implementation and fidelity of approved curriculum models across classrooms.
• Supports school readiness goals and child outcome initiatives program-wide.
• Provides coaching and mentoring to teaching staff.
• Develops and facilitates professional development and training activities.
• Monitors classroom quality through observations, file reviews, and site visits.
• Assists staff with transitions from EHS to HS and to Kindergarten.
• Supports compliance with Head Start standards and federal reviews.
