Description

St. Therese Early Education Center is located in Parkhill of Kansas City, MO. We are hiring for full-time (as well as part-time) in the infant/toddler/preschool department. An Early Childhood Degree or education-related degree is strongly encouraged. The successful candidate recognizes the mission of the Catholic Church by planning, guiding, and evaluating the learning process of the students within the framework of the school's philosophy, organization, and curriculum. The qualified candidate is competent with skills and strategies that provide for a safe and caring learning environment and is capable of designing developmentally appropriate activities that maximize student competencies and skills for intellectual, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual growth. Familiarization with Diocesan and school policies will guide the teacher’s decision making.

Responsibilities

Perform other duties as assigned by building administration.

Demonstrate professional responsibility in confidentiality, sound judgment, and dress. Enforcing diocesan and school policies and general behavior.

Manage and set high behavior standards within the classroom and building.

Must be physically able to perform the job of a teacher of young children

Use a variety of methods to assess and monitor student's progress.

Promote positive relationships and effective communication with all staff, parents, and students.

Demonstrate knowledge of best teaching practices

Prepare and implement effective lessons using diocesan standards.

Being an active member of a faith community and being a model of the teaching of Jesus.

Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.

Qualifications

Trained in Protecting God's Children

A Bachelor degree in education or related field from an accredited university
