Job summary

The Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) seeks a versatile center assistant to support classroom operations and front-desk tasks in a Head Start program. You will greet visitors, handle clerical duties, assist teachers, and help with bus, cook, and custodial duties as needed.

Qualifications include at least six months of experience in roles with children, cooking in a restaurant, or cleaning in industrial settings. Commitment to safety and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Six months experience working within a variety of responsibilities to include working with young children, cooking in a restaurant, or cleaning in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors in person or by phone, answer inquiries, and direct them.
• Enter data, complete reports, file and retrieve information.
• Assist the teacher in implementing child- and teacher-directed activities.
• Assist with custodial duties of the classroom and playground supervision.
• Serve as sick room attendant as directed.
• Assist bus driver to provide safe transportation and ensure children are seated and using seat belts.
• Assist food service staff in preparing meals and maintaining kitchen areas.
• Perform laundry and general maintenance tasks around the center.
• Communicate positively with staff, parents and children and participate in meetings.
