Job summary

Neighborhood House is seeking an Early Education Assistant Manager to support, coach, and develop teachers in our toddler and preschool classrooms. You will ensure daily enrichment aligns with licensing rules and that staff receive training and guidance.

You will help maintain classroom ratios, conduct observations, and deliver trainings with the Early Education Manager. This role includes hands-on classroom work and coordinating new-hire onboarding and scheduling.

Qualifications

• CDA Certification or Bachelor's in Early Education.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience teaching in early education.
• First-Aid and CPR Certificate.
• Valid Utah Driver's License.
• Food Handler's Permit.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Pass Child Care Licensing Background Check.
• Pass a drug test.
• Must speak, read and write English fluently.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be a presence in classrooms to provide coaching, behavioral and teaching support and ensure each classroom is in compliance with NAEYC and Licensing regulations.
• Ensure classrooms within your pod are always within ratio; develop plans for ratios and communicate those plans to the Early Education Manager.
• Conduct monthly classroom observations; report observations to Early Education Manager and provide coaching to teachers based on those observations.
• Maintain and develop a schedule for teaching strategies for all teachers, including new hires.
• Act as a designated director as assigned.
• Work together with your team to ensure all new hires are onboarded and receive all required trainings.
• Conduct regular check ins with new employees to ensure they are receiving the support needed and are on the right trajectory.
• During professional development days work with Early Ed Manager to create and deliver trainings.
• Work in the classrooms in a teacher role for set number of hours each week.
• Responsible for scheduling and time off requests for your classroom pods
• Work with Early Education Manager to execute any disciplinary action.
• Follow all licensing rules and regulations and keep abreast of any changes.
