Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have a CDA or state certificate meeting CDA requirements, or be enrolled in a program leading to an associate or bachelor degree.
• Valid CDL with P&S endorsement.
• At least two years of experience in vehicle safety and motor vehicle laws.
• Able to attend overnight meetings.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to maintain/retrieve files and visually review.
• Able to lift 25 pounds.
• Must pass Central Registry Check.
• Must pass a drug screening.
• Must pass Staff Health Assessment for Caring for Children.
• Must have Tuberculosis Certification.
• Must communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Transports children to and from the center in a safe manner.
• Directs bus monitor to maintain order and supervise activities while in transit.
• Transport children to medical/dental appointments and during field trips.
• Assist with pre-planned center activities and supervise children during activities.
• Maintain center property and safety equipment.
• Maintain and service agency bus; coordinate repairs/inspections as needed.
• Participate in trainings and professional development.
• Assist Transportation Manager in analyzing bus routes for cost savings.
• Assist in daily lesson plans and center activities.
