Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Teacher I to support daily care, supervision, and development of young children in a safe, nurturing classroom. You will implement age-appropriate activities, maintain routines, and foster positive social and emotional growth while partnering with families and center leadership.

You will collaborate with teachers and aides, manage materials, ensure health and safety, document progress, and follow licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of experience in Early Childhood Education.
• Background screenings completed successfully.
• First Aid and CPR certification within state timeline.
• Serve Safe Food Handler certification preferred or required by state.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities and experiences.
• Supervise children during daily routines to ensure safety and engagement.
• Maintain open communication with parents about development and activities.
• Coordinate with Program Teacher, aides, and staff to meet ratios.
• Prepare and organize materials and environments for instruction.
• Follow health/safety policies and document incidents.
• Maintain classroom supplies and organize food/materials.
• Respond to parent concerns and support service recovery.
