Job summary

Bon Secours in Richmond is seeking a dedicated Teacher I to support daily care, supervision, and development of young children in a structured classroom. You will implement age-appropriate activities, maintain routines, and foster social and emotional growth while collaborating with center leadership and families.

The role requires state-mpecified background checks, 1 year of experience in Early Childhood Education, and compliance with licensing and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• 1 year of experience in Early Childhood Education is required.
• Must meet state background screening requirements and licensing standards.
• First Aid/CPR certification within state-mandated timeline.
• Serving Safe Food Handler certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities to support developmental growth.
• Supervise children during routines to ensure safety and engagement.
• Maintain open communication with parents regarding progress and activities.
• Coordinate with Program Teacher, Teacher Assistants, and Classroom Aides to maintain staff-to-child ratios.
• Prepare and organize learning materials and environments for instruction.
• Follow health and safety policies and document incidents as required.
• Maintain classroom supplies and coordinate materials for daily activities.
• Respond professionally to parent concerns and support family relationships.
