Job summary

Bauer Family Resources is seeking a Teacher Assistant in Danville, VA to support the Head Start team in delivering school readiness activities for 3–5 year olds. You will help implement individualized lesson plans, build relationships with families, and maintain a safe, engaging classroom environment.

Required are 1–2 years of experience and enrollment in or completion of a CDA or related degree; a valid Indiana driver’s license is also noted in the posting.

Qualifications

• Proof of CDA certificate program or degree enrollment/completion.
• Valid Indiana driver's license required.
• 1–2 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe, document, and assess student progress.
• Analyze student data.
• Develop and implement lesson plans based on data and student needs.
• Engage families in program services and activities.
• Conduct Family Conferences and Home Visits.
• Maintain clean, safe, and engaging indoor and outdoor learning environments.
• Ensure compliance with Bauer Policies, State Licensing, and Head Start standards.
• Attend twice-monthly staff meetings and professional development days.
