The Port Washington Children's Center is hiring an energetic Early Childhood Teacher’s Assistant in Port Washington, NY for the Early Childhood Program. You will support the lead teacher, assist with activities, and help create a warm, safe learning environment for young children.

We welcome a patient, dependable team member who communicates well and collaborates with staff. The role offers both full-time and part-time schedules within a supportive, community-focused center.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with young children preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced classroom.
• Familiarity with OCFS regulations.
• Positive, patient and nurturing attitude.
• Dependable and responsible.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in early childhood or preschool setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities and routines
• Help create fun, engaging, and age-appropriate learning experiences
• Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental growth
• Build positive and nurturing relationships with children
• Assist with meals, rest time, transitions, and other classroom routines

• Prepare classroom materials and assist with activities
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members
• Communicate professionally and positively with families and coworkers
• Follow all health, safety, and OCFS regulations and requirements
