Job summary

Children’s Aid Society seeks compassionate Assistant Teachers for the Werner Early Learning Childcare Center to support lead teachers in delivering high-quality education.

Shifts run Monday through Friday with morning and afternoon options. The role emphasizes inclusive education, student progress monitoring, and collaboration with staff to create a safe, positive learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Spanish fluency is preferred.
  • Candidate should be patient, adaptable, and committed to supporting student learning.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.
  • Support students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
  • Supervise students during class, recess, and other activities.
  • Prepare materials and set up the classroom for lessons.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and positive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate with the lead teacher about any concerns.
  • Support students with special needs, ensuring inclusivity and engagement.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as needed.

We are seeking passionate and dedicated Assistant Teachers to join our team at the Werner Early Learning Childcare Center and support our lead teachers in delivering high-quality education.

Schedule: Monday - Friday (morning & afternoon shifts available)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.
  • Support students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
  • Supervise students during class, recess, and other activities.
  • Prepare materials and set up the classroom for lessons.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and positive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate with the lead teacher about any concerns.
  • Support students with special needs, ensuring inclusivity and engagement.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Education or related field preferred. 30
  • At least 1250 hours of experience working with children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Spanish fluency is preferred.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a passion for working with students.
  • Willingness to be a constant role model and mentor to youth.
