Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of professional child care experience; less is acceptable if willing to obtain CDA.

The Teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating curriculum, and managing daily classroom activities. They must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to create a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment that encourages success. Excellent communication skills are essential for interacting with children, parents, and staff, guiding teacher assistants, and resolving concerns.

Duties

  • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Lead by example; motivate and coach the teaching team.
  • Plan age-appropriate activities to promote social, cognitive, and emotional development.
  • Communicate regularly with parents through discussions, reports, and conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with center policies and state regulations.
  • Maintain a healthy classroom environment, including hygiene, safety, and security.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure adherence to planned activities and standards.
  • Keep accurate records, forms, and files.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development for continuous improvement.

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of professional child care experience (we will consider less than one year if you agree to obtain the CDA certification at our expense).
  • Strong communication skills and basic computer literacy.
  • High energy, teamwork orientation, and positive attitude.
  • Understanding of child development.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must pass background checks and health screening.
  • Physical ability to perform duties, including walking, handling objects, and visual acuity.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Nice to Haves

Must be coachable
  • Associate's Degree in early childhood education or related field with at least 30 ECE credits.
