Arapahoe Community College Child Development Center is seeking Early Childhood Teachers to create supportive learning environments for young students. Responsibilities include lesson planning, assessments, and collaboration with families. Positions may be available full-time or part-time and are open to educators across all experience levels.
Early Childhood Teachers provide responsive educational opportunities in a nurturing, supportive environment that promotes success for our youngest learners, ACC students, employees, and the communities we serve, while working cooperatively with administration, colleagues, and families. The Early Childhood Educators deliver engaging educational experiences and are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the classroom. In addition, the Early Childhood Teacher will create and maintain genuine relationships with children and families, delivering best practices for each unique child. The Early Childhood Teacher will be responsible for planning and conducting assessments, utilizing assessment data, and classroom individual observations to create informed, meaningful weekly lesson plans. The Child Development Center follows State of Colorado licensing requirements and NAEYC accreditation standards while implementing a developmentally appropriate curricular approach. We are seeking to fill both full-time and part-time positions. We are accepting applications for teachers with all levels of experience in early childhood education.
Duties
EDUCATOR I
This role involves planning and implementing developmentally appropriate lessons, fostering a nurturing classroom environment, supporting teacher candidates, and engaging families. Candidates must have an associate degree or equivalent credential in Early Childhood Education and one year of preschool experience. Preferred qualifications include experience with Creative Curriculum and the Pyramid Model.
EDUCATOR II
This role includes designing and implementing developmentally appropriate, differentiated instruction; mentoring, teaching partners and observers; and fostering strong family and community relationships. Candidates must have an associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent credential), and three years of preschool teaching
experience. Preferred qualifications include experience with Creative Curriculum, the Pyramid Model, and director qualifications.
Requirements
EDUCATOR I
Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, which must include at least two, three-semester credit hour courses in Early Childhood Education; one of the courses must either be Intro to ECE or Guidance Strategies, OR
Current Early Childhood Professional Credential Level II or higher in Version 3.0, OR
Current professional Teaching License issued by the Colorado Department of Education with an endorsement in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or Early Childhood Special Education Specialist
A minimum of one year experience in a preschool classroom planning engaging learning experiences.
Working knowledge of Colorado Early Learning Developmental Guidelines and / or Colorado Academic Standards for Preschool
Knowledge and ability to implement Colorado Department of Human Services Licensing and Health Regulations for Childcare
Experience utilizing authentic assessment strategies to collect and document growth and development using Teaching Strategies GOLD.
Utilizes formative assessment to drive instruction and intentionally plan integrated lesson designs.
Active CPR and First Aid Certification.
