Job summary

Washington Park United Methodist Church (WPUMC) Preschool seeks a Preschool Lead Teacher for children aged 1-5. The role emphasizes nurturing growth, guiding play, and supporting emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities include meeting individual needs, planning activities, maintaining open parent communication, and using assessment tools to foster self-esteem and social skills. In-person, flexibility for schedule is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Early Childhood Education experience evident in job description (2 years).
• Childcare experience required (2 years).
• Driver's License required.
• PDIS Level II Certificate preferred.

Preschool Lead Teacher (Children aged 1-5)

At WPUMC Preschool, children are encouraged to develop at their own pace in a nurturing environment supported by a team of dedicated teachers. The program enhances children's emotional, social, intellectual and physical development and provides the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

We are looking for fun and energetic teachers!

Teacher daily duties include:

• Meeting the individual needs of the children
• Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning
• Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child's age and developmental level
• Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills
• Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff
• Building teamwork
• Using assessment tools

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

Schedule

• Day shift (School Day is from 9:15am-2:45pm)
• Before and After Care shifts available (8:00am-9:15am and 2:45pm-4:00pm)
• Monday to Friday
