Job summary

Kindering seeks a dedicated ESIT Developmental Specialist to develop individualized plans and deliver services in home, school, and community settings. You will coach families, conduct developmental assessments, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to support infants, toddlers, and young children with disabilities.

Requirements include a B.A. in Special Education, teaching certification (ES Endorsement preferred), and ESIT credential eligibility.

Qualifications

• B.A. in Special Education or Early Childhood Special Education; Master’s preferred.
• Teaching Certificate with an Endorsement in ES Education preferred.
• Holds or eligible for ESIT Developmental Specialist credential.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and flexible teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement each child’s program and IFSP as part of a team.
• Provide home-based or community-based services in natural environments.
• Coach families and/or providers; maintain progress reports and records.
• Coordinate with families, Family Resources Coordinator, and other providers.
• Oversee training of assistant educators and classroom volunteers; lead team meetings.
• Refer families to Kindering programs and community services; support coordination.

Job description

PurposeDevelop, coordinate, and implement special instruction or family training as part of Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) or early childhood preschool education for enrolled children. Enhance children’s development and learning environments through a combination of parent coaching, groups, and direct intervention.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDuties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:Participate in the development and implementation of each child’s program and Individualized Service Plan as part of a team, including participation in IFSP meetings with Family Resources Coordinator, family, and other providersProvide services within the child’s natural environment which includes home-based or community-based servicesAssess each child’s developmental level of functioning; develop daily and monthly teaching plans; implement routines-based curricula at Kindering, home, or community childcare as neededProvide parent and/or provider coaching as a service delivery model. Provide families with information, skills, and support relating to enhancing the skill development of infants and toddlers with developmental disabilities or delaysConduct formal and/or informal evaluations of child’s development; prepare progress reports; and maintain accurate records of contact for each childWhen assigned to a classroom, communicate with Early Learning Coordinator to support enrollment in class. Oversee and provide training to assistant educators and classroom volunteers with the assistance of the Teaching Assistant Manager.
