The Substitute Teacher will work under supervision at designated locations, delivering high-quality early childhood development services, including educational, social, physical, nutritional, and psychological development. Responsibilities include communicating with parents, maintaining records, planning lessons, serving meals, and ensuring a safe, healthy learning environment.
Qualifications: Experience in early childhood education, child development, teamwork, interpersonal skills, organization, observation, communication, and basic computer skills.
Experience: Minimum 1 year as a preschool teacher or aide, preferably in Head Start. Must be 18+, have DOJ clearance, and Livescan associated with California licensing.
Education/Permits: Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher, AA degree or higher with 12+ units in ECE, 3 units in Infant/Toddler preferred, CPR/First Aid, valid CA driver’s license, proof of DOJ clearance.
Special Requirements: TB test within a year, immunizations (MMR, Pertussis, Influenza), COVID vaccination, physical exam, legal work authorization, and ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 25 lbs.
Must meet physical demands typical of a preschool environment, including standing, sitting, kneeling, crawling, lifting up to 25 lbs, and outdoor supervision. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
