Job summary

EASTCONN is seeking a dedicated early childhood professional to support Head Start and other programs in Connecticut. The role focuses on implementing age-appropriate curricula, promoting self-esteem, and ensuring safety and health alongside families from diverse backgrounds.

The candidate will work with an interdisciplinary team to maintain compliance with licensing and program standards while engaging in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Provide care and supervision for center children.
• Demonstrate understanding of diverse backgrounds and needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing age-appropriate curriculum.
• Encourage self-esteem and independence across social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs.
• Integrate health, safety, and nutrition education into curriculum planning.
• Provide for care, supervision, and safety of center children; keep classroom neat and orderly.
• Work with families to support early learning.
• Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and Head Start/NAEYC standards.
• Participate in workshops and professional development.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
