Job summary

Umatilla-Morrow Head Start, Inc. is seeking an Health & Mental Health program assistant to support planning, coordination, and implementation of health services.

You will conduct vision and hearing screens, monitor immunization status, assist with health education and resources, and help connect families with medical and dental homes. Strong communication and a willingness to travel to sites are important.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (verbal and written).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to establish trust with staff, families, and children.
• Experience in a social service setting preferred.
• Proficiency with basic data entry and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Assist Health & Mental Health Manager in planning and coordinating health services.
• Conduct vision and hearing screens for children; perform re-screens as needed.
• Review immunization status and coordinate referrals to health providers.
• Maintain health resource lists and support community linkages for medical/dental homes.
• Facilitate health-related home visits and provide health information to staff and families.
