Position Overview:

Hours/Day: 1.0 FTE

Days/Year: 184

Compensation: BA Step 1 $46,060 - MA60 Step 6 $60,182

Primary Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Early Childhood Programs Coordinator, the parent educator ECFE teacher is responsible for developing, planning, and implementing ECFE classes. The teacher provides programs and services for children birth to pre-kindergarten and supports a continuum of programs to promote healthy growth and development of children and families. This includes collaboration within the district and the community, as well as planning and executing parent/child interaction programming.

Essential duties include:
  • Understanding ECFE goals, objectives, and philosophy
  • Knowledge of current trends, curriculum models, resources, and methods in the field
  • Collaborating with program and administrative staff, and peers in planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the program
  • Preparing and delivering developmentally appropriate instruction
  • Attending staff meetings, professional development, planning sessions, conferences, etc.
  • Building knowledge of community agencies and resources, and assisting families in accessing them
  • Supporting ECFE public relations and special events
  • Supporting colleagues through regular collaboration
  • Fostering an inclusive and respectful learning environment by understanding personal biases
  • Supporting home visits and parent engagement activities
Education and License Requirements:
  • B.A. or B.S. degree, preferably in Early Childhood Education, Family Life Education, or Child Development
  • Teaching License (Parent Educator License preferred)
  • Master’s degree in Education preferred
