Job summary

UC Berkeley's Early Childhood Education Program (ECEP) seeks a devoted teacher to support a play-based, emergent curriculum for children ages 3 months to 5 years. The role emphasizes safety, developmentally appropriate practices, and ongoing family engagement.

Under supervision, you will plan lessons, observe progress, and communicate with parents while upholding NAEYC standards and PITC philosophy. This is a full-time position with UC benefits and required clearances.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and facility with DRDP software and assessments.
• Current CA CD Teacher Permit or higher and infant/toddler units.
• Commitment to safety, fingerprint clearance, and CPR/First Aid.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a university child-care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary caregiving in a safe, developmentally appropriate manner.
• Prepare materials and activities aligned with children's emerging interests.
• Communicate with families and participate in conferences and screenings.
• Support DRDP assessments and maintain confidentiality and documentation.
• Collaborate with center team to maintain quality teaching and program goals.
