Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and Maryland teaching license eligibility.
• Demonstrate knowledge of current instructional and curricular methods.
• Ability to relate well with students, parents and staff.
• Additional certification requirements as set by the MSDE or Board of Education.
• Alternates/additions to qualifications as the Board may find appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Instructs assigned classes at designated times.
• Prepares lesson plans and provides evidence of preparation upon request.
• Uses varied instructional techniques and media suitable to students and location.
• Maintains records as required by law and policy.
• Enforces school rules and maintains classroom order.
• Communicates with students' parents about progress and concerns.
• Participates in staff meetings and committees.
• Plans educational goals and objectives for lessons and projects.
